Roof repairs in Worthing for the slate terraces near the seafront and the tiled bungalows and semis of Goring, Durrington and Broadwater. Ring 01273 110448 or send the form for a free written quote from Michael.
Worthing roofs split into two kinds, and they fail in different ways. The Regency and Victorian terraces around the town centre, Heene and Broadwater are mostly slate. Their nails rust, slates slide one by one, and lead valleys and chimney flashings split with age. We refix slates with tingles, replace cracked ones with matched slate and renew the lead.
The inter-war bungalows and semis of Goring-by-Sea and Durrington are concrete and clay tile on felt that is now 80 or 90 years old. When that felt goes, every slipped tile lets water straight onto the battens. Ridges bedded in mortar crack in the wind off the sea, and the gable verges lose their pointing.
We trace the leak from the roof and the loft, show you photos of what we found and fix the cause. If the felt has gone across the whole roof, we tell you straight that repeated repairs will cost more than a re-roof, and show you why.
