Roofers in Peacehaven for the bungalows, chalet bungalows and dormer conversions on the grid of roads above the cliffs. Ring 01273 110448 or send the form for a free written quote.
Peacehaven started as a plotland town after the First World War, sold off in small plots on a grid of straight roads running back from the cliff. It filled up over the following decades, mostly with bungalows, and a great many of those bungalows have since had their lofts turned into rooms with dormers.
That gives Peacehaven a very particular set of roofs: low hipped and gabled bungalow roofs, lots of dormers with flat roofs, and verges and ridges that take the full wind off the Channel. The Meridian monument on the cliff top marks how exposed it is.
Mortar ridges and verges, split dormer flat roofs and gutters full of moss are the everyday jobs. When the tiles themselves are worn out, a full re-roof with dry fix ridges and verges gives a bungalow roof another 40 years and more.
Peacehaven is about 5 miles from our base. We work across the whole grid, from the cliff-top roads by the Meridian monument to Peacehaven Heights and back up towards Piddinghoe, with Michael on every quote.
The roof repairs we do most in Peacehaven are dormer flat roofs that have split at the edges, mortar ridges and verges cracked by the wind, and gutters choked with moss. gutter repairs and roof cleaning often go together on these bungalows.
A full new roof on a Peacehaven bungalow is a short job for the difference it makes: strip, new membrane and battens, new tiles, dry fix ridges and verges, and a 25-year guarantee. Budgets are in our new roof cost guide.
