Moss holds water against the tiles like a sponge. In winter that water freezes and cracks them, and in spring the moss washes into the gutters and blocks them. A roof covered in it ages fast.
We remove moss and lichen by hand and with soft brushing, which does not damage the tile surface. We replace any broken tiles we find, clear the gutters and downpipes of everything that falls, and apply a biocide so the moss does not come straight back. A protective coating is available on suitable tiles.
